You Do You

There is a thunderstorm every time a woman is born. We are here to disrupt, to make change, to alter and challenge and fight and shout and include and accept. Don’t apologize for taking up space, own it. Don’t cower, hold yourself like the strong, worthy person that you are, because you are quite simply enough. Self-love is a rather simple concept but sounds easier than it might be to practice it. We all live with daily prejudice and stereotypes. Rules are pressured upon us the moment we are born and ready to take in information.

The societal pressure to comply to a particular stereotype can be very frustrating and this often leads to a decrease in self-esteem. So many are filled with regret for taking time off and working on ourselves. While a secure sense of our self-worth is so vital to our well-being, as debilitating and disempowering is the lack there of. The confidence you will find when you start to practice self-care and acknowledge the importance of your self-worth is a huge milestone towards truly being yourself. Break free of the norms and rules.

The array of qualities and talents we possess is fascinating. How beautiful would it be if we could freely use them to our advantage, without any preconditions. March to your own beat. Do what is right for you, whatever that might be. The notion that we have to follow rules in order to be accepted is outdated and damaging. There is no one way to be a woman.
